PerilScope: New Online Radar for Detecting Risks
John S. Quarterman, Gretchen K. Phillips, InternetPerils, Inc.
Austin, 12 August 2006
Abstract
Why depending on firewalls, intrusion detection, and perimeters
is like depending on the curtain walls and towers of a medieval
castle after cannon have been invented.
How InternetPerils uses data from multiple sources
to see what is going on outside the firewall, from phishing to hurricanes.
Aggregate damage requires collective action.
